First drop falls in heated sand
Water to Steam
Redeemer of read lands
Second drop falls on dirt covered palms
Water to Mud
Liberator of sun-drinking life
Third drop falls through sandy winds
Water to Dirt Rain
Savior of blue skies
As drops turn to rain
Rain turns to Storm
Storm sweeps away yesterdays sins
Sheltered from the rain
Goat-meat and Mushrooms
fries in coal-heated oil
Men seek shelter
Water and Land
Brings new scent of life
A promise of growth
Black Hands and Red Lands
Saved from northern sand
Rice is cocking
African Rice to African Mouths
Given as a offering
Leaving us free
Sand and Wind
Has left the land of Asogli

Pendjari
Antelope stands ever watchful
As red earth brings forth red fire
Redeeming scorched land
Black smoke thwart blue skies
Brings hope to strong
Grants mercy to weak
And writes tales of a New Time
Black ashes turns white into red soil
As highborn sun rises
People of the land keeps chewing
Red dust to red clay
Building blocks for a New Future
Grayborn thinkers, mighty ones
Sounds of words
Sounds of visions
Visions that raises with the Upgoing Wind
As sun changes yellow to red to black
From hills to vallyes Silence Decent
(At safari in Northern Benin, December 2012)

Just sad
So beautiful she looks tonight
Never has her hair been more perfect
Eyelashes made by a divine hand
Just sad
No imperfection – Not a spot
I don’t think anyone could find
Difficult to concentrate on the speaker
Just sad
Long legs – Long hair
A lot of beauty
Looking at her cute motions
A little sad
I now when the talk is over
I will see the finest smile I know
What a beautiful and charming lady
Just sad
I reach deep
Hope only to find a little sadness
An opportunity – a dream without existents
Finding sadness
But still a beauty in the hall
She illuminates it with her golden hair
That will hardly change
A little bit sad
I don’t know
Just feeling sad
Just peacefully sad
………………….So sad.
My friend’s happiness is my happiness.
Tonight I am happy
(an old poem I found sorting my papers. Written app. 2000)

Spice
Some time ago it was known by none
Life was good but still in bond
Years passed on in a successive line
Then came the one who drank the wine
It was like a fairy tale
Something unreal from far away
Hidden by mountains and mist
Only a legend of an unknown bliss
Brought in by strong winds
Telling stories about distant things
That must be protected from any harm
When the cargo finally arrived in dock
Life changed – The land started rock
To man the enquiry was brought
The question: “Who is Like God?”
To Miika (meaning: “Who
is like God”) and Taru (meaning: myth,
legend, tale) at their wedding in 2003
